I have spent a LOT of time setting up my Jeep Wrangler to be flat towed behind my RV.  The beauty of flat towing is that you don’t need to store a trailer, you don’t need to spend the time strapping it down.  The ONLY advantage I see with trailering your Jeep would be if you are wheeling it.  If something were to break, you can still trailer it home.
Below is what I’ve done to flat tow the Jeep.  These items are specific to the JL, but similar setup can be had on a JK too.

      TOWING
Tow Loops – I used the Maximus- 3 setup.  I love how it’s not obvious with a bunch of hardware under the bumper that looks bad and hangs down low.  Here’s the items you’ll need from them.
I would suggest this package, as it will have all the needed items in one shot:  Maximus-3 Tow Kit

      BRAKES
When it comes to a breaking system – I LOVE the RVI setup.  I am on my 3rd Jeep wrangler that we tow and this unit is very easy to setup, and very easy to move to a different vehicle if needed.  It’s not bulky, and can be up in running in less than 3 minutes.  It also fits in the rear storage compartment under the floor.

      LIGHTING

For a nice clean install that works well, I suggest the Cooltech harness.  This will eliminate any backfeed into the Jeeps electrical system.  If you have LED tail lights – also consider the additional kit which eliminates battery drain.
You can see their items here:  COOLTECH ITEMS

Be sure to see our videos on installing all of these items as well, here are a few links:
